A quick Q&A with Isaac Carter

We caught up with Isaac Carter for a quick one before his set tomorrow night at Apron's Halloween Special Takeover at the Haggerston
.
..
Hi Isaac, we hope you’re good? tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

I'm a DJ/producer born and raised in London. Most recently I started my new label, party and platform 'Ochi' - which is a big focus of mine alongside my artistic endeavours.

You've been Djing/producing for a while now, when did you get into this?

I actually started making grime beats (that weren't very good) on Fruity Loops when I was like 14 - which was 15 years ago - but I would say I've been producing consistently and with clear direction for the last 4 years.

Your sets are usually club oriented, what are you enjoying playing out recently?

Besides my new EP 'Satellite Scope' which is out now on Ochi (I had to... sorry) - I've been playing a lot of Solid Gold Playaz, NDATL stuff, Reggie Dokes and some old Wiggle Records bits to name a few.

If you could collaborate with anyone musically, who's the dream?

Gemini or Derrick Carter.
.
Those two in the late 90s/early 00s are my GOATs as DJs and producers.

You’re playing the Apron Halloween Takeover at the Haggerston , where else can we catch you soon?

You can catch me at Phonox on Saturday 11th playing with Francesco Del Garda.

Thank you for taking the time to chat to us! Are there any words of wisdom or shoutouts you would like to make?

Shout out to Rixon and Apron Records for inviting me down, I'm a big fan!
.
My key word at the moment is consistency, when you love what you do this is easier to achieve, but yeah - just keep at it. It's taken me 29 years to realise this aha!
.

Come to the Haggerston tomorrow (28th) to see Isaac alongside Saige Sounds, Lora and Rixon D at the Apron Halloween Takeover
